Adoption Information
APL believes the suffering of unwanted animals will end only
when people become more responsible about pets, and unwanted litters are prevented. All animals adopted from APL have been spayed or neutered.
If you are thinking about adopting a pet, please read this guideline first. APL adopts cats and dogs to responsible people who can offer the animal a good home. There is an adoption fee that helps cover the cost of the spay/neuter and all other health care the animal has received while at the shelter. The current fees start at $100 for a cat and $175 for a dog. You can visit the animals during regular business hours (please see the Home page for shelter hours). Also, APL regularly advertises available pets in The State newspaper Classified Pet Section.
Please call 803-783-2119 or e-mail the shelter at aplpets@bellsouth.net to request additional information

Adopt an APL Cat from PetSmart
The APL is now working with PetSmart on Two Notch and Lexington on 378 to offer our
cats and kittens for adoption. It is part of PetSmart's mission to provide a cat show room in each store and work with local rescue shelters to make cats
and kittens available to the public for adoption. If you're interested in adopting a cat from the APL, you can always visit our shelter but now you have
the option of visiting your local PetSmart store as well. Please visit our Petmatch listing with PetFinders
to view some of the cats we have available for adoption (to return to this site, just close that window when you have finished).
